Middleborough, the ponds, and Wareham
The H1 on the home page says Middleboro because that is the name on the line. The legal spelling is Middleborough, and the pages use it for the same town. A deer taken inside that town, along the Nemasket River, off Route 28, off Route 44, or near the I-495 corridor, can be the subject of a referral call. Intake passes the call to a trusted area processor. Pricing comes from a trusted area processor. No street is published, and no drive time is published, because the drop-off is confirmed on the call.
MassGIS checks used for this site place the center of Middleborough in Wildlife Management Zone 11. The same check places the centers of Lakeville, Rochester, Carver, Plympton, and Halifax in Zone 11. A center is not every acre. If you hunt near a zone line, read the official zone map for the spot where the deer fell. Antlerless permit talk, including a replacement permit after a qualifying whole donation, follows the zone of the harvest.
Lakeville and Halifax
Route 105 and the Assawompset Pond shore tie Lakeville to Middleborough. Hunters who recover a deer on that shore still field dress, report within 48 hours, and call before the carcass moves. The pond is a landmark. It is not a drop-off. Sunday hunting is closed all season, including the archery weeks from October 5 to November 28.
Route 106 runs the north side of Halifax past the Monponsett ponds toward Middleborough. Halifax callers use this same referral line. The ponds orient the drive. They do not change the report, the tag, or the rule that pricing comes from a trusted area processor. A Halifax deer in the first shotgun week, November 30 to December 5, still needs an in-person check station from the official map.
Rochester, Rocky Gutter, Carver, and Plympton
Route 105 and Route 28 drop south into Rochester toward Rocky Gutter country. Rocky Gutter Wildlife Management Area sits on the south side of Middleborough. This page does not invent a parking count for that management area. Current land rules belong with MassWildlife. A cooler and ice plan for the ride toward a trusted area processor on the South Coast is covered in the Rocky Gutter guide. This page still gives no travel time.
Route 58 and Route 44 reach Carver. Myles Standish State Forest lies on the Carver side of that country. Check the forest rules before hunting there. Forest rules and a processing referral are different documents. The center of Carver, checked on MassGIS, is in Zone 11. Plympton sits where Route 58 and Route 106 cross between Halifax and Carver, and its center is in Zone 11 as well. A Plympton deer uses the same call.
What the call covers for every town
Any of these towns uses the same deer processing referral. Bring a reported, field-dressed deer. Ask before you count on a cut list, sausage, jerky, a skin-only job, quarters, a cape, or a second species. Capacity and hours are unconfirmed. Taxidermy is separate. A whole deer given under Hunters Share the Harvest leaves the hunter with no processing fee, with a replacement antlerless permit including Zone 11 described as two to four weeks, and partner participation is unknown.
Primitive season, December 14 to December 31, is late. Cold air does not replace a clean field dress. The four-hour and 37F standard still matters if the deer might be donated. Youth weekend remains October 2 and 3, and the paraplegic hunt remains October 29, 30, and 31.
